What is now Kloof Theological Centre started off as a series of Vineyard theology courses for a gap year program that was run at St Agnes Anglican Church in 2010. Due to encouraging feedback we received from the students and realizing the value of these courses beyond the scope of the gap year program, we decided to open up the courses to the whole church. Five of us started off in 2010, and well over 200 people have participated in the courses since then!
Feedback was encouraging - for many people the Bible took on new life, Jesus became more real, and their hunger and passion for God deepened. We realised that many people wanted to go deeper with God and were finding what we were offering as catering for that need. We even started to get people from other churches in the area join our courses.
Inspired by a vision for a Bible college at St Agnes, and encouraged at what God was doing through our theology courses, a team of people was formed who had done courses and who had a heart to see more people get deeper into the Word. We decided to work towards launching a theological centre at St Agnes that would serve the wider community by making biblically orthodox, Christ and gospel-centred theology accessible. We have got the buy-in from many of the churches in Kloof and the result has been the launching the Kloof Theological Centre.
